Tax Enquiries
Part of the self assessment regime is that it is policed by the Inland Revenue, who can select any case at random for review. A review might be limited to one or two particular aspects of a return or could be a “Full” enquiry into all its aspects. Either way, enquiries can be time-consuming and expensive so we advocate completeness of disclosure at all times and the use of a suitable insurance policy to cover the costs associated with a full enquiry.
